Turtles and more!

Two patterns have just been released and they both have a turtle or honu on them.  We love our honus here in the islands of Hawaii and it seems they are like around the world because the quilters keep asking for them.

First up is Honu Kai.  This is a very large honu wall hanging or throw.  With an additional border it will make a nice twin sized bed quilt.  My instructions are for turned edge machine applique, but it of course can be done with any applique technique you enjoy doing.  With the turned edge I feel it makes the quilt more washable so that it can be really used.  There is plenty of room in the background for you to add additional seaweed, fish or whatever else makes the quilt your own.
As pictured this quilt is 54" x 72".  What a nice quilt for a young childs room!  All my patterns have full sized patterns, so this pattern is huge!  But you don't have to take it to a printer to have it enlarged.  That is definitely a plus for you.
Honu & Friends is a much smaller quilt, only 30" square.  It features a honu/turtle in the center surrounded by a Moorish Idol, a Spotted Boxfish, a Yellow Tang and the Hawaiian state fish, the Humuhumunukunukuapua'a.  The instructions for this quilt are for hand applique using the back baste method.  Again applique is applique is applique and you can make is using whatever method you like best.  Enjoy my newest designs!!
