Day in the life of the night blooming cereus.

For the second time this summer the cereus bloomed. Last night there were ten glorious blooms that opened. The air smelled devine.  The first picture is 4pm.  The buds are nice and fat.
Annie, my best girl dog, and Carol came over to check out the blooms at 8:30pm.
At 10pm the blooms are pretty open and still would open a little bit more.
The morning after at 6am.  The pretty blooms are hanging down and sad looking.  But they were glorious while they lasted.  Now we have the memory until next summer when they will bloom again.

Miss Ellie Soleil pattern is ready!!

The pattern for Miss Ellie Soleil in now up on my website for purchase.  This is a long pattern since there are more than one technique used in the pattern.  I used my method of machine applique and TNM (Tear No More) paperpiecing to make this quilt. This would be for a very confident beginner or intermediate quilter.  In January I will be teaching a two day class using this pattern at Quilt Passions in Kailua Kona, Big Island of Hawaii.  Come on over and join us for a fun time putting this delightful elephant together.
