June snowfall on Mauna Kea

This is what Mauna Kea looked like yesterday morning after there was a June snowfall of 6 to 12".   This photo came from the West Hawaii Today paper.  There was a thunderstorm that went through and it dumped hail and snow.  What a sight for June in Hawaii!!  It seems the weather is strange all over.

  1. Wow! Very pretty.

It's very cold here but it is winter so I guess it's normal (I hate cold).

  2. Snow in June here is pretty unusual. Down off the mountain where we live it is cloudy and 79 degrees F. in the middle of the afternoon. It is very neat to be standing by a palm tree here on the Big Island of Hawaii and see snow on the mountain top.
